Overview

Freediving Planet Moalboal is the only dedicated freediving center in the area, located on the scenic shores of Panagsama Beach. Unlike the scuba dive operators nearby, Freediving Planet focuses exclusively on breath-hold diving — offering structured courses from beginner to master level, accredited by AIDA (International Association for Development of Apnea) and SSI (Scuba Schools International).

The center's beachside location gives immediate access to Moalboal's top freediving sites: the sardine run, Pescador Island, Turtle Point, and the reef wall.

Course Offerings

For Beginners

Progressive courses build on breath-holding capacity, depth adaptation, efficient finning, and rescue procedures. AIDA 2-star through 4-star certification available.

Specialty Workshops

Equalization technique workshops, advanced breath-holding, and monofin training available for certified freedivers looking to improve specific skills.

Guest Experiences — What People Say

  1. Skilled instructors, personal attention — Small class sizes mean you get real coaching, not just supervision. Instructors are consistently described as patient and professional.
  2. Safety as a genuine priority — Pre-dive briefings are thorough. Constant underwater support during training. Guests appreciate that safety is never compromised for speed.
  3. Sardine run experience — Being inside a school of millions of sardines on a single breath is described by most guests as one of the most profound experiences of their lives. No tanks, no noise — just you and the fish.
  4. Marine life encounters — Turtles, barracuda, and various reef fish are regularly seen. Freediving disturbs marine life far less than scuba, so encounters tend to be closer and calmer.
  5. Community atmosphere — Solo travelers consistently praise the center's social atmosphere. It attracts a like-minded crowd of ocean-lovers.
  6. Personal breakthroughs — Many guests report overcoming fears or achieving depths they never thought possible — a common theme in the reviews.
